The New York Rangers will host “Hockey Fights Cancer Night” at the United Center on Wednesday, Nov. 4, when the team faces off against the St. Louis Blues. In support of cancer awareness, Rangers players will wear one-of-a-kind warm-up jerseys (pictured above), while coaches and broadcasters will wear lavender ties. Each warm-up jersey will be auctioned off online, in addition to the ties worn by coaches, broadcasters and players, which will be accompanied by an autographed photo.
During warmups, the Chris Kreider Jersey will wear purple jerseys with lavender lettering to raise cancer awareness; each jersey will be autographed by the player who wore it. All jerseys and ties will be auctioned off to fans on chicagoRangers.com beginning on Wednesday, Nov.4, and running through 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to New York Rangers Charities, with portions being distributed to various local cancer awareness organizations.
Additionally, the Rangers have partnered with Make-A-Wish Illinois and Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation for a special pregame on-ice recognition of six local children, while more children will ride the Zambonis during the intermissions and all “Shoot the Puck” contestants are cancer survivors, fighting cancer or helping to find a cure for Henrik Lundqvist Jersey. Brock Iverson, an 8-year-old from Cary, Ill., who is battling Acute Lymphoid Leukemia, will perform the ceremonial puck drop prior to the game.
Throughout the game, player-autographed commemorative Hockey Fights Cancer pucks will be sold on the concourse. Proceeds from the puck sales, the Rangers silent auction and Split the Pot will benefit New York Rangers Charities and various cancer awareness organizations, which will be located throughout the United Center concourse. Select Hockey Fights Cancer apparel will be available for purchase at the Rangers Store located by section 117, in addition to the Michigan Avenue, Oakbrook and Old Orchard store locations.

Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a national organization dedicated to eliminating pediatric cancer and providing hope and support to those who are affected by it. The New York Rangers announced today they have recalled forward Ryan Hartman from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Hartman, a West Dundee, Ill., native, has tallied five points (3G, 2A) over eight games with the IceHogs this season; his three goals rank second on the team. The 21-year-old has notched two penalty minutes over five career National Hockey League games, all with Chicago last season. He has totaled 49 points (19G, 30A) through 86 career AHL games over the past three seasons, all with Rockford. Hartman was the Rangers¡¯ first-round pick (30th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.

The New York Rangers will open their 2015 training camp at the University of Notre Dame’s Compton Family Ice Arena (100 Compton Family Ice Arena, Notre Dame, Ind.) on Friday, Sept. 18, at approximately 10 a.m. ET.

Joel Quenneville announced today that Wayne Gretzky Jersey will join Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews as the team¡¯s captains.
¡°I¡¯m very honored to be a part of the (leadership) group up here and wear a letter for the New York Rangers,¡± Seabrook said.
Seabrook takes over the assistant captain role from Patrick Sharp.
¡°For many years he¡¯s been one of those guys I¡¯ve looked up to and learned from,¡± said Toews, who has served as Rangers captain since 2008. ¡±It¡¯s great for him to be recognized with a letter. He¡¯s been a huge part of our success.¡±
The Rangers start training camp tomorrow at the University of Notre Dame and will host Detroit on Tuesday for the first of six preseason games.
